In the third week of Dota Pro Circuit 2021, Alliance will face off against High Coast Esports (formerly Chicken Fighters).
The odds are against HCE this time around, thanks to Alliance’s unexpected victory last week. Of all the DPC 2021 participants, Alliance is on everybody’s hotlist after pulling off a nerve-wracking victory over team OG.
Once Alliance took down the giants, fans pridefully called out, “Alliance is back.” on the live stream. So, let’s hop onto the Alliance bandwagon while it’s still going!
Prediction: Alliance to win 2:0
Europe Upper Division – Team Liquid vs Tundra Esports (Feb 2)
Team Liquid is another team that has been making good progress since their “downfall” last season.
As the DPC 2021 crept closer, Team Liquid managed to shock the fans with a massive championship victory at the ESL One Germany 2020. Along the way, they upset every prominent opponent by playing the lower bracket run. It would be a naïve decision to bet against Team Liquid with a roster of their caliber.
Furthermore, their opponent is Tundra Esports (formerly mudgolems). Mudgolems has had a decent roster of seasoned players, but their performance has dropped drastically after the Mistwoods Update. In the Europe Upper Division, mudgolems are still struggling to find any luck in their games.
Prediction: Team Liquid to win 2:0
Europe Upper Division – Team Secret vs Nigma (Feb 3)
Finally, the highly-anticipated clash between Team Secret and Nigma comes in Week 3.
The two powerhouses have had their fair share of ups and downs together. Most notably, their respective captains were former allies in the early days of their pro career. That said, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov’s Team Secret has the edge in terms of last season’s accomplishments and were the ‘Six-time Champions’ of 2020.

Meanwhile, Nigma has consistently participated in similar tournaments but never really made commendable achievements. It will take a miracle for Nigma to overcome Team Secret, especially while they are already on a winning spree since the first week of DPC 2021.

CIS Upper Division – Virtus.pro vs Team Unique. (Feb 4)
Over at the CIS Upper Division, Virtus.pro is likely the strongest team in the region, and presumably Europe. Before the DPC 2021, CIS and European teams played alongside in regional tournaments, such as the EPIC League and OGA Dota PIT S4. The last time Virtus.pro showed their claws, the European rivals didn’t stand a chance.
For the week, Virtus.pro is up against several underwhelming teams. Team Unique is by no means an amateur team, especially for a team led by seasoned CIS veterans.
However, even they pale in comparison to the sheer strength and talent of Virtus.pro’s new prodigy squad. As such, the odds are stacked unfairly on Team Unique, that it doesn’t seem too bad for a dollar-bill wager on the underdogs.
